Teen Scene

Students in grades 7th – 12th are invited to join us for a variety of free events at the Demmer Library. Andrew has assorted regular events, such as game nights, and one time events coming up. Or just say hello to Andrew and tell him the longest word you know. Andrew likes absurdly long words, such as Donaudampfschifffahrtselektrizitätenhauptbetriebswerkbauunterbeamtengesellschaft, a German word that uses 79 letters.

What else is happening? On September 12th at 5pm, there will be Game Night! Bring your own or play games provided! Pizza and beverages will also be provided. There will be another Game Night on September 26th, too.

On September 19th at 4pm, A Novel Bunch begins, the library’s YA book discussion group. This month’s book is Neil Gaiman’s Coraline. Copies are available from around the WVLS system. Future books will have a limited number of copies for teens to take and keep. Show up on the 19th so we know how many to stock!

Finally, on September 22nd at 1pm, coinciding with the early dismissal at school, there will be a Pokémon Perler Beads Crafternoon! With supplies provided, bead a sprite of your favorite pocket monster (patterns provided). If you have a specific monster in mind, ask Andrew to look for it. They are also easily found on Pinterest and other sites.
