Demmer Library hosting volunteer conversations

What makes a person volunteer?  What makes a person stop volunteering?  How does volunteering enrich our lives? The Demmer will host conversations with residents and organizations asking these question and digging into the heart of volunteering in Three Lakes. The programs will be held Thursday, March 18 at 4:00 pm, Saturday March 20 at 10:00 am, and Thursday March 25 at 1:00 pm.  The event is open to anyone in the Three Lakes area and you only need to attend one of the meetings.

The library is hoping these conversations can help with designing and establishing a revamped volunteer program at the library, and to help direct individuals interested in volunteering to organizations and agencies needing volunteer help.

“For a small community like Three Lakes, volunteers are vital,” said Programming Librarian April Lammert. “The organizations that run on volunteers drive so much of this town.  We want to start the conversation on how the library and the community can make volunteering easier, more effective, and enjoyable.”

If you are interested in getting involved or taking part in the conversation, please contact April Lammert at 715-546-3391 or, or visit for more information.
